ELIJAH plays Support for GEORGE CLINTON at the AVO SESSION in basel, switzerland (thurs.12.11.09)!
George Clinton (22.7.1941) is an very famous musician and the principal architect of P-Funk. He was the mastermind of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s, and is a solo funk artist as of 1981. He has been called one of the most important innovators of funk music, along with James Brown and Sly Stone. Clinton is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted in 1997 with fifteen other members of Parliament-Funkadelic. A LEGEND IS COMING TO BASEL along with the Swiss Reggae Newcomer ELIJAH and his band "The Dubby Conquerors". This will be Elijah`s last concert in 2009.

LOS FABULOSOS CADILLACS
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs kommen aus Argentinien und wurden 1985 gegründet. Während dieser Zeit erlebte gerade die sogenannte zweite Ska-Welle in England ihren Höhepunkt mit Bands wie Madness, The Specials, The Selecter und English Beat, die auch die Fabulosos Cadillacs stark beeinflussten. Ihr eigener Stil entwickelte sich mit der Zeit und ist vielleicht am besten als eine Mischung aus Ska, Jazz, Salsa, Folk und Rap zu beschreiben.
Chronologisch gesehen kam die erste Platte "Bares y fondas" (1986) raus, auf die noch weitere 13 folgten. Eines ihrer bekanntesten Lieder heißt "Matador", mit dem sie auch den MTV Video Music Award Latino gewannen!
Ihre Mitglieder wechselten mit der Zeit, die Sänger Gabriel Fernández Capello (der immer noch unter dem Namen Vicentico singt) und Flavio Cianciaurlo (Señor Flavio) blieben bis zuletzt dabei.
Nach der Auflösung der Band im Jahr 2002 widmete sich jeder eigenen Projekten. Im April 2008 wurde eine Reunion angekündigt und kam tatsächlich zustande. Neben einer im November 2008 startenden Tournee durch Amerika und Spanien wurde ein neues Album aufgenommen und im Juni 2009 kommen sie nach langer Zeit wieder nach Europa!

Elijah Release von "Beweg Di" in Deutschland+Österreich im 2009!
Elijah & The Dubby Conquerors werden ihr erfolgreiches Album "Beweg Di" anfang März 09 auch in Deutschland und Österreich über Grooveattack rausbringen!
Dazu kommt neben einer Neuauflage des Albums mit 2 Bonustracks und neuem Booklet auch eine dazugehörige Tour, welche am Fr.6.3.09 im Allgäu beginnt (Hörbar Oberstdorf) und am Sa.7.3. in der Kulturbühne Schruns (Schruns, Österreich) weitergeht.
Die Gewinner des European Reggae Contest wollen auch im 2009 reichlich touren und Grenzen sprengen; man darf also auf einiges gefasst sein.

ELIJAH, European Reggae Contest Winner 2008 !!
Elijah & the dubby conquerors haben am letzten Freitag 11. Juli 2008 den European Reggae Contest 2008 (ERC) gewonnen und sich damit einen Platz auf der Sony BMG Compilation „People's choice: The Reggae Selection" und eine internationale Festival-Tour verdient. Der Weg zum Titel führte über eine Schweizer Ausscheidung, welche Elijah & the dubby conquerors anfang Juni 08 souverän gewannen. Der Preis dieser Vorausscheidung war die Teilname am Finale am Rototom Sunsplash, einem der grössten Reggae Festivals Europas, in Ossopo (Udine/Italien). Dort setzten sich Elijah & the dubby conquerors gegen sieben Mitbewerber aus ganz Europa durch und gewannen den Titel als beste europäische Newcomer Reggae Band des Jahres 2008!
Die Festivaltour führt Elijah nach FRA (Reggae Sun Ska, Bordeaux 2.8.), DE (Reggaejam, Bersenbrück 8.8.), HOL (Sundance, Eindhoven 10.8.), AUT (Wiesen, Wiesen 14.8.), DEN (Raggapak, Silkeborg 15.8.) und ESP (Foundation, La Coruna 6.9.)

SunJam Festival cancelled
As deepdive music was informed this morning the promoter of SunJam Festival (Dieterswil, CH) is economical incapable of action starting today. This promoter (ASSiSTA GmbH, Philipp Koch) was also responsible for the organization of one of the fan camps (www.fancamp08.ch) associated with the UEFA European Championship (“UEFA Euro 2008”) and has stopped any activity on the ground of fancamp08.ch.
deepdive music is deeply sorry for this circumstance and tried to do everything to arrange the event nevertheless. But to find another festival location and partners to finance the open costs in just three days is more than impossible. It was the biggest goal not to lose the confidence of the agencies we worked with and to rescue the SunJam Festival. But the cancellation announcement came too sudden, unforeseen and absolutely too late to make a difference to the current situation.
Fortunately deepdive music could help some bands out of the SunJam-lineup to an alternative performance in Switzerland. With that DIRTY PRETTY THINGS will appear at the ICS club in Bern (www.isc-club.ch) and for GABRIELLA CILMI, THE RUMBLE STRIPS and INFADELS there are proceedings going on with the festivals Braderie and Barberie in Biel. It seems like there might be a found perfect solution for those bands and the new promoters.
For the big acts ORISHAS and NOUVELLE VAGUE there could not have been found a new solution since the production of this dimension was too big for any left promoters and the remaining time for the arrangements.
Despite of the failed rescue deepdive music was able to minimize the "drama" and provide the guests of the new events in Bern and Biel exclusive live-experiences.

...is what the smiths already knew at their time, and by now our time
has come to say goodbye.
Flyswatter are going to discontinue.
After 12 years, about 12 changing members, tons of fun on tour and in the studio they shout out a big "THANK YOU" to all their friends and fans of the last years.
They will certainly keep up making music... so stay tuned for our future projects, write them on myspace, and keep enjoying their past 3 albums!

Now DISCO ENSEMBLE seem to travel at high speed!
After having signed a worldwide - excluding Finland - deal with Universal Music in Germany, the band is happy to announce their preliminary release dates for
Central Europe:
August 4th Black Euro
August 18th First Aid Kit
Furthermore, the first UK release is confirmed! Fullsteam Records will
release a 7" vinyl single of We Might Fall Apart on July 3rd 2006.
The album release date for UK hasn´t been set yet.
Also, in April the band has been in the studio in Sweden together with
Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, Breach, Fireside) and Michael Ilbert
(The Hellacopters, Cardigans, Union Carbide Productions, Supergrass)
to re-record 4 songs for First Aid Kit.

Take a world famous skiing resort and a bunch of awesome bands as ingredients and what you get is an unforgettable musical experience close to heaven... or at least a fun evening with friends and great music on an altitude of 1`560 metres.
Starting on the 23rd of November, deepdive music and Villa Palatina work together on a project called "Super Tunes". The event will take place every 2nd Wednesday of the month, it`s philosophy: "hella fun without spending much money!". Therefore the entrance fee will cost no or little money. We`ll soon let you know about dates and who`s going to rock Davos.

The Jessica Fletchers - promotion through Lautstark Promotion
after all those concerts and fantastic reactions of the swiss people, the norvegians are now back to convince Switzerland with their second album.
The release of "less sophistication" is now fixed on 21.03.2005 and will be promoted over Lautstark Promotion, we can expect something more... There are a few radio-singles, let`s hope the best!
