ELIJAH, European Reggae Contest Winner 2008 !!
Elijah & the dubby conquerors haben am letzten Freitag 11. Juli 2008 den European Reggae Contest 2008 (ERC) gewonnen und sich damit einen Platz auf der Sony BMG Compilation „People's choice: The Reggae Selection" und eine internationale Festival-Tour verdient. Der Weg zum Titel führte über eine Schweizer Ausscheidung, welche Elijah & the dubby conquerors anfang Juni 08 souverän gewannen. Der Preis dieser Vorausscheidung war die Teilname am Finale am Rototom Sunsplash, einem der grössten Reggae Festivals Europas, in Ossopo (Udine/Italien). Dort setzten sich Elijah & the dubby conquerors gegen sieben Mitbewerber aus ganz Europa durch und gewannen den Titel als beste europäische Newcomer Reggae Band des Jahres 2008!
Die Festivaltour führt Elijah nach FRA (Reggae Sun Ska, Bordeaux 2.8.), DE (Reggaejam, Bersenbrück 8.8.), HOL (Sundance, Eindhoven 10.8.), AUT (Wiesen, Wiesen 14.8.), DEN (Raggapak, Silkeborg 15.8.) und ESP (Foundation, La Coruna 6.9.) | 25.06.2008
SunJam Festival cancelled
As deepdive music was informed this morning the promoter of SunJam Festival (Dieterswil, CH) is economical incapable of action starting today. This promoter (ASSiSTA GmbH, Philipp Koch) was also responsible for the organization of one of the fan camps (www.fancamp08.ch) associated with the UEFA European Championship (“UEFA Euro 2008”) and has stopped any activity on the ground of fancamp08.ch.
deepdive music is deeply sorry for this circumstance and tried to do everything to arrange the event nevertheless. But to find another festival location and partners to finance the open costs in just three days is more than impossible. It was the biggest goal not to lose the confidence of the agencies we worked with and to rescue the SunJam Festival. But the cancellation announcement came too sudden, unforeseen and absolutely too late to make a difference to the current situation.
Fortunately deepdive music could help some bands out of the SunJam-lineup to an alternative performance in Switzerland. With that DIRTY PRETTY THINGS will appear at the ICS club in Bern (www.isc-club.ch) and for GABRIELLA CILMI, THE RUMBLE STRIPS and INFADELS there are proceedings going on with the festivals Braderie and Barberie in Biel. It seems like there might be a found perfect solution for those bands and the new promoters.
For the big acts ORISHAS and NOUVELLE VAGUE there could not have been found a new solution since the production of this dimension was too big for any left promoters and the remaining time for the arrangements.
Despite of the failed rescue deepdive music was able to minimize the "drama" and provide the guests of the new events in Bern and Biel exclusive live-experiences. |

Plattentaufe und Tourstart: Der Startschuss zum Auftakt unseres Debutalbums wurde am Samstag von DRS3 und SF2 nun gegeben. Wir selbst werden diesen heute Abend, dem 25. September, an unserer Plattentaufe im Anker in Interlaken ausführlich feiern. Morgen, am 26. September, erscheint dann die CD in den Läden und der Tourstart wird am Abend in Zürich am freestyle.ch mit dem Gig im Zimtsternzelt besiegelt. Wir freuen uns über das gute Medienecho, das die Single “Heidi” erhalten hat und hoffen natürlich, dass auch ihr alle Freude an unserer CD haben werdet. Freuet euch auf uns, denn wir freuen uns auf euch!!!
